Crusin’ Sitka Sound, June 2013

One of the joys of living in Sitka is getting out on the water.  We were out twice in June, once on a cruise sponsored by the Sitka Summer Music Festival, where we listened to Schubert while anchored in a cove and five bears wandered by on the shore.  There are more pictures from the Music Festival cruise in the Sitka Summer Music Festival Post.  The second cruise was with the Sitka Conservation Society.  The theme was history and local historians lectured on the history of the the town, especially during the Second World War.   We sailed past some of the sites.  Oh yes, we also encountered sea otters and a humpback whale.
